Our Vision

We are a relational and collaborative network of churches centred on the gospel seeking to pray, partner and plant for the good of Clayton and surrounding suburbs.

Prayer
We seek God in prayer together for Clayton and beyond.

Partner
We partner together to serve Clayton and beyond.

Plant
We help start and strengthen churches together for Clayton and beyond.

The power to do this is found in the gospel. As the gospel renews our hearts, it will also renew our churches and ultimately it will renew Clayton and beyond.

This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, the God of Israel, says to all the captives he has exiled to Babylon from Jerusalem: “Build homes, and plan to stay. Plant gardens, and eat the food they produce. Marry and have children. Then find spouses for them so that you may have many grandchildren. Multiply! Do not dwindle away! And
work for the peace and prosperity of the city
where I sent you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, for its welfare will determine your welfare.”

— Jeremiah 29:4-7

Our Journey

1980 The Seed of Prayer

Michael Jensen and David Brownless started the Clayton Pastors Prayer Group for prayer and mutual encouragement. This continues today with the network growing to include up to 15 pastors today.

1990 The Seed of Community Engagement

The prayer group prayed that God would bring a Christian businessman to help bring transformation to Clayton. Bill Pontikis joined and served the community through Monash council, Café Care ministry and now together with Clayton Church of Christ. Throughout these years, many community ministries emerged from All Saints Anglican, St. Andrew's Presbyterian, Clayton Church of Christ, with some collaborative efforts to serve our community. In 1991, Dixon House Neighbourhood Centre was birthed through All Saints Anglican Church and is still making a significant impact in the community today.

2000 The Seed for Church Planting and Evangelism

Stephen Tan planted Regeneration Church (2017) with a vision of church planting. Two significant evangelism ministries also emerged from St. Andrew's Presbyterian church which included ROCK ministry (2005) and NavSarjan outreach ministry (2017).

2021 The Seed for Collaboration

Chee Fah along with Bill Pontikis launched the vision for Love Loud through Clayton Church of Christ, with a vision for city partnership and transformation. Through the continued relationships through the Prayer Group, Stephen Tan and a few others saw the need for a greater vision that could unite the local church for city transformation, which led to the birth of Together for Clayton.
